A dazzling display and a magnificent blaze captivated students, staff, family and friends on Friday 8 November. Coming after two weeks of grey skies caused by ‘anticyclonic gloom’, this year’s bonfire and fireworks night seemed even more colourful than usual.
Also adding colour to the evening were the ‘mythical creature’ guys made by our Year 7s and their House Captains earlier in the week. Before being ceremoniously burnt on the towering bonfire, Barat’s fabulous phoenix was judged the winner by Mrs Baillie. (We assume it later rose from the ashes.)
